Giving Back & Having Fun

SUPPORTING LOCAL CHARITIES

Ausco and our employees regularly support local charities. Two recent events were a collection of gifts for ‘Toys for Tots’ during December and a donation of a significant amount of food to support ‘Long Island Cares’ food bank. Our employees have always been generous when asked to contribute to those in need.

The mission of ‘Toys for Tots’ is to provide toys, books, and other gifts to less fortunate children. It is typically administered by a dedicated group of United States Marines and local volunteers.

‘Long Island Cares’ brings together all available resources for the benefit of the hungry and food insecure on Long Island. Their goals are to improve food security for families, sponsor programs that help families achieve self-sufficiency, and educate the general public about the causes and consequences of hunger on Long Island. Their vision is “A Hunger Free Long Island”.

HABITAT FOR HUMANITY

A group of Ausco employees volunteered to work on a local Long Island project for ‘Habitat for Humanity’. The project was to build a house for an underprivileged family. Our team loaded materials from a warehouse installed flooring and assisted in the initial framing of the rooms.

As is typical of a ‘Habitat for Humanity’ event, everyone involved from Ausco returned from their hard day of work knowing that they had helped an underprivileged family own a home that otherwise they would likely never have had to chance to purchase.

Payments from owners of ‘Habitat for Humanity’ houses go to fund future Habitat for Humanity projects.

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER WALK

Fifteen Ausco employees participated in a 5K walk-a-thon to raise money for breast cancer research.

‘Making Strides Against Breast Cancer’ events were created so anyone touched by breast cancer won’t have to face their diagnosis alone. The event raises awareness and money to fund research, support services, and early detection.

…AND HAVING FUN

At Ausco, we believe that it is important to engage our employees at all levels, including activities that provide opportunities for us to have fun together. Annual Halloween Contest, Annual 4th of July Picnic, Christmas Parties, and outside events such as fishing trips and Belmont Racetrack days.

We also have fun together by supporting local high school job fairs and high school robotic teams.
